I’m going to be spending my weekend trying to sort out just how my main characters utterly wreck each other.

I don’t take this lightly. It’s important to build a relationship, grow the love, the intimate moments, the sexual tension, the trust…

But it’s also important to let them hurt each other. Let them say something rash, do something foolish, assume the wrong thing about each other.

That makes conflict and conflict needs resolution and all of that creates action and drama and character growth. And halfway through my rough draft on this next project – I need some conflict.

So into the fire they go. I’m taking aim, and firing live ammo. It’s gonna be ugly before it gets happy again.
