So TRAVELER Is About Time Travel, Right? Sorry, But No. . .
I want to give a great big THANK YOU to BookTuber Jacqueline (aka JBookLover) for her shoutout of TRAVELER as one of her most anticipated for 2017!
I really appreciate the plug! But I also feel like I have to clear up a misconception that I keep hearing over and over in association with the book:
This is not a time travel story. I mean, not at all.
I get where the confusion comes in – the promo blurb talks about steampunk and pirates and there’s a pirate ship right on the cover, but Jessa and Finn are shifting through alternate realities, not through time. So while Jessa does find herself in a corset more than once, it’s still in our timeline, just in a different version of the world as we know it. And yes, there’s a pirate ship, but only one pirate, not a bunch of them.
Trust me when I tell you that this one is all the pirate you need. DAYum.
Here’s some of the other stuff you’ll find, though:
Murderous cannibals
Talking dolphins
Glowing dessert food
Also, snarky humor, nail-biting tension, tons of feels and enough romance to curl your toes. Not to mention a plot twist that will either have you fist pumping as a you jump on your couch or throwing the book at the wall. I sincerely hope for the former.
So step aboard and take a ride with TRAVELER! We may not be jumping back through time, but I promise, you won’t be disappointed in the trip.
