Sometimes You Just Have To Rest That Writerbrain…By Reading
I have decided I’m on vacation this weekend.
I have been writing 2,000 – 5,000 words per day for what feels like forever, and I just plain need a break. And how does a writer take a break? By reading what other writers have written, of course!
I may even watch one of the 20+ DVD’s I still have in their plastic wrap that I scored from the Wal-Mart $5 DVD bin across the last 6 months. Or start season 2 of Game of Thrones, which I’ve refused to do since I know it’ll suck me right in. Or the second half of Season 1 of Outlander – same thing. I bought both sets and haven’t touched them because I know I won’t be writing a thing.
And when my brain vacation is over, it’s back to work! I’ve got 3 YA novels brewing in my head – 2 of which could evolve into series works. Not sure which I’m throwing myself at full-time yet. I’m going to outline first and then go with my gut.
After I’ve re-grown some gray matter, that is.
Have a great weekend, everybody!
